Amazing Backyard Transformation

Project Description:
The homeowner wanted a landscape design that included a long list of features and amenities. His vision was to create a resort setting in his backyard for dining, cooking, and entertaining both kids and adults. The front yard included a new paver walkway and lush, colorful plantings.

The backyard includes a custom gunite swimming pool with sun ledge, a raised hot tub and a grotto. The sun ledge allows for lounging in the water while the grotto allows one to sit in seclusion behind the waterfall. The hot tub also has a waterfall which cascades onto a seat ledge in the pool where soothing warm water flows over your shoulders.

We designed and installed multiple natural and paver seating areas with seat walls. The use of space was maximized to create destination points throughout the yard. The design also includes a meditation garden.

For entertaining friends and family, we designed and installed a custom-curved outdoor kitchen with bar seating, veneered with natural stone, capped with granite countertops, and topped off with a custom-built cedar pergola. Kitchen appliances include a gas grill, refrigerator, sink, and multiple access doors and drawers.

For colder nights, we included a gas-fueled firepit surrounded by a seat wall to accommodate more than 15 people. Privacy screen plantings, specimen trees, and colorful and lush shrubs, perennials, and grasses were planted throughout the yard.

We installed a highway of catch basins and drain pipes that lead to an in-ground drywell system to ensure proper drainage of all hardscape and softscape elements.

A custom low-voltage landscape lighting system was included to illuminate the home’s architectural features, highlight landscape features, and help the homeowner and his guests comfortably and safely navigate the property at night.
