Dream Landscaping at the Jersey Shore

“Dream shore home” took on a whole new meaning with this project. Our client wanted their beach-front property in Mantoloking, NJ to be an extension of their ocean and beach views, ideal for entertaining.

Given the challenges with noise reduction from Ocean Avenue, and tight space restraints, we were able to create a dream outdoor living space for our client.

To reduce noise, and to give our client the Zen space they were looking for, we installed a dense evergreen backdrop throughout the back of the property to achieve both privacy and noise reduction. Colorful hydrangeas and crepe myrtles add pops of life and color against the evergreen screen.

The backyard includes a custom pool, grilling area, relaxation spaces with indoor and outdoor cabanas, and a sun lounging space.

Our client wanted lounge spaces both in and out of the pool that were safe and comfortable for adults and children. To achieve this, we created an outdoor cabana that plays into the design of the home. This area is fit with lounge chairs, fans, lighting and limestone material to match the poolscape.

We designed the pool to have a custom sun shelf where our client can lounge in the water. We also added in-pool steps walking directly into the pool, perfect for small children or simply soaking your feet.

The backyard is fit with Kentucky bluegrass, similar in style to a five-star golf course. The natural, soft grass is perfect for those bare-footed barbecues by the pool.

The sleekest aspect of this project is the indoor cabana area. Our client loves being on the beach, but equally loves entertaining with friends and family. For this, we designed a resort-like indoor cabana fit with an exquisite bar, TV and audio accessories, lighting, and a grand lounge space.

We installed accordion-style sliding doors that when open, create a seamless flow from the cabana to the poolscape. With this, we were able to extend the living space directly into the pool area to become one, ultimate entertaining zone.

With all that entertaining comes parking. So, we installed a custom driveway, using lavender and grey riverbed stone, lined with Belgium blocks to keep material intact. This material is safe and soft enough for those evening walks back from the beach or to the car.
