Luxury Pool & Outdoor Living Design in Secaucus, NJ
This outdoor living project in Secaucus, NJ was designed to create a clean, private environment for entertaining, dining, and relaxation. The renovation included a spacious porcelain patio, custom seat wall, pool water feature, landscape lighting, privacy fencing, and new plantings and a sodded lawn, transforming both the front and back of the property into cohesive outdoor spaces.
Outdoor Living & Dining Space
The majority of the work was completed in the backyard, where the outdoor living areas were designed to accommodate the homeowner’s entertaining lifestyle.
A large porcelain patio constructed with BayRock Moon Porcelain Pavers provides dedicated spaces for outdoor dining and living, while also allowing room for chaise lounge chairs adjacent to the existing pool. The cohesive grey color palette creates the clean, contemporary appearance the homeowner envisioned.
Patio Features & Water Feature
The patio includes a custom seat wall constructed with wet-laid lava rock veneer and finished with a 14-inch-wide bluestone cap, providing both structure and additional seating.
A water feature was added to the existing swimming pool, enhancing the outdoor environment while complementing the surrounding patio design.
Bluestone steppers paired with SynLawn artificial turf create attractive connections throughout the backyard while reinforcing the clean aesthetic of the overall landscape.
Privacy Fence & Front Entrance
To increase privacy, a custom fence was installed using black aluminum posts with black vinyl boards, creating a secluded outdoor setting for entertaining and everyday enjoyment.
The front of the home was enhanced with a porcelain walkway constructed using BayRock Moon Porcelain Pavers, along with new plantings and a sodded lawn that complement the updated landscape.
Landscape Lighting
Landscape lighting was installed throughout the backyard to complement the outdoor living spaces and extend their enjoyment into the evening hours. The lighting enhances the patio, dining, and relaxation areas, allowing the homeowners to comfortably enjoy the space after sunset while supporting the clean, contemporary design of the overall landscape.

Our project included replacing and expanding our existing patio, installing a drainage system to address ongoing water issues, and refreshing our landscaping. From start to finish, Peter was fantastic. He responded quickly to every email, no matter how small the question, and was always upfront, transparent, and honest throughout the entire process. Our town had several additional permit requirements that made the approval process much more complicated than expected. Everyone at Sponzilli stayed on top of the process, keeping us informed along the way.
The installation crew was also great. They were courteous, punctual, hardworking, and kept disruption to a minimum.
During the project, an accident resulted in our neighbor’s tree being knocked down. Sponzilli immediately contacted our neighbors directly, took full responsibility, and worked with them to find a solution they were happy with. They ultimately replaced the tree with a beautiful mature tree.
We couldn’t be happier with how our backyard turned out—it exceeded our expectations. We will absolutely use Sponzilli Landscaping Group again for any future landscaping projects.
We have used them for a backyard refresh and to creating a short stacked stone retaining wall to create a bed along the driveway. Their crew is knowledgable and hard working and we had three great projects. Their design drawings sealed the deal for me, so wonderful to visually see what it would look like!
