Functional & Elegant Landscape Installation

This award-worthy landscape design-build project revitalizes a previously fragmented and outdated patio area into a stunning, cohesive outdoor living space. The original patio suffered from a lack of flow, with various levels of steps and retaining walls that hindered movement and disrupted the continuity of the entertainment area.

Our vision transformed this disjointed yard into a connected and inviting oasis that flows effortlessly, providing a beautiful backdrop for outdoor recreation and gatherings.

The redesign began with a new Techo-Bloc Blue 60 patio in Champlain Grey, bordered by a contrasting slate-colored soldier course that adds definition and elegance. To ensure seamless connectivity, we designed and installed four sets of masonry steps and landings carefully crafted to match the right elevations while adding texture and visual appeal.

A matching retaining wall was built to hold back the grade, integrating harmoniously with the new patio. Patterned concrete was used to expand the patio, creating a fluid transition between the paver walkway and the patio areas, enhancing the usability and aesthetic of the space.

It was crucial to regrade the entire yard to improve surface water flow and create a level lawn suitable for family activities. Drainage improvements, including subsurface systems to control roof runoff, were implemented to prevent erosion and protect the new landscape.

Decorative gravel was strategically placed in garden beds, allowing for proper water flow from leader drains, while decorative stone was used throughout to further aid in water management.

The entire area is illuminated by new landscape and architectural lighting, highlighting key features and extending the space’s use into the evening. This transformation has breathed new life into the backyard, turning a disjointed and underutilized space into a unified, functional, and elegant outdoor retreat
