Waterline Square Park and Complex
GID Development developed Waterline Square Park Group. The entire project includes three residential towers inside a 2.6-acre park. The park is situated next to the Hudson River Park.
The entire Riverside Center complex covers eight acres and runs from West 59th Street to West 61st Street between Riverside Boulevard and Freedom Place South. They designed the space to include thousands of residential units, retail spaces, an elementary school, a public plaza, and a hotel.
Signe Nielsen, Founding Principal at Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects, is quoted as saying, “I consider myself a designer of places that must heal or in some way contribute to the environment. On every project, we ask: Does it bring people together in positive ways? Does it seem likely to endure?”
Waterline Square Park succeeds in all these endeavors.
The outdoor park is accessible from all residential towers and is open to the public, as well. Visitors and residents alike can enjoy the manicured lawns, innovative water features, intriguing pathways, and children’s playground.
In the summer of 2022, Waterline Square Park was home to several free events, including a film festival, live music and dance classes.
